Chasing a Dream in Hollywood (Florida): The Inkings Inc. Story

My name is Jamie Chiccarello.  I own a screen printing and apparel decorating business in Hollywood, Florida--Inkings Inc.  
Inkings Inc. came to be fatefully after years of interest and contemplation,  a layoff, and pieces seemingly magically falling in place that could not be scripted.

I come from a background of technical sales and business management. Most recently selling supplies to the major cruise lines for a company where I wore every hat.

The company downsized in June of 2017 and I decided to take a leap of faith and chase a dream.

I used to have an underground art career that was recently rejuvenated and started to produce work again (as much as time would allow). I have always wanted to do something in a creative field for a living. I became interested in screen printing five or six years ago as a way to expand what I was doing artistically.

Thanks to the resources that have been made available online, about 250 tutorials, and numerous articles and books later I practically tripped and fell into a screen printing class (which I translated into “divine” intervention). I pulled my first squeegee and was hooked. I was reminded of a feeling that lied dormant for many years. I knew immediately my new path.

I did additional market research, and studied all I could regarding the business side of things, everything else seemed to fall in place. I have been grinding and building my small business ever since and truly love what I do. Screen printing is a passion and a blessing.
